Potts Cottage Warton

A Client who initially wished to extend their existing property and then decided due to costs to not pay the VAT and take down the existing house and build a new 3 bedroom dwelling. Set in front of Warton Cragg where the rear boundary touches the area of outstanding natural beauty. This new dwelling had to not only respect the natural environment but also provide the accommodation required and take in the full view of the extensive views east towards Ingleborough. The design has a purposeful alpine look with a simple large double pitched roof and large fully glazed open east facing elevation overlooking the valley below. 3 floors at the front reducing to 2 at the rear accommodating the rising ground of Warton Cragg. Lower floor is a cinema room with an open plan living and kitchen area over with balcony access. The upper floor is a narrower in plan to the main ground floor plan so that the pitched roof creates scale and shape to the living and bedroom spaces which respects the overall scale to the new dwelling to its surrounds.
